CAM Executive Directors Inspected the Airport Operations before New Year

The National Health Commission introduced that current epidemic situation is generally stable. Few local cases caused by imported epidemics in some areas have been controlled. According to the prevention and control mechanism announced by The State Council that the epidemic prevention and control in winter and spring should always adhere to the general policy of “dynamic zero” and should be on scientific precision. It is necessary to adapt measures to local conditions, categorize guidance, and implement policies in different areas in order to ensure the flow of personnel safe and in order. Executive Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan and Mr. Lei Si Tai went to Macau International Airport (MIA) in the morning of 29th December 2021, for the inspection to the epidemic prevention and control work and operation management introduced by Director of Airport Operations Department Mr. Gary Geng, to ensure the simultaneous implementation of epidemic prevention and operation works during the New Year holiday.

Director of Airport Operations Department Mr. Gary Geng introduced that there are 40 flights on average operating at MIA per day, mainly to Shanghai and others East China regions with about 14 round-trip flights per day. According to the guidelines from the authorities, arrival flights from medium-high risk area and low-risk area should be handled in separate and independent ways.  In accordance with the requirements of relevant departments of the MSAR government, closed loop management for staff assigned to high-risk working position is required to all parties. At the same time, the Civil Aviation Administration of the MSAR Government also forwarded the "Notice of the State Council on Strengthening the Prevention and Control of the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic in Port Cities by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council in Response to the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic", to refer to the prevention and control measures for personnel in high-risk positions mentioned, clarify the urgency of formulating and implementing a closed-loop management plan at the airport port.      

Executive Directors Mr. Kan and Mr. Lei paid attention to the management modes and details on the procedures of flight handling and passenger arrangements during the inspection process, avoid the risk of cross-infection in the process of flights handling. Also, the personnel arrangements should be dynamically adjusted so as to uphold to our core value of "Safety, Efficiency, Effectiveness", to ensure the smooth operation while fully cooperating with the epidemic prevention work.
