"Macau to Bangkok First Low Fare Airline Inaugural Flight Ceremony and the Welcome Reception for AirAsia First Flight to Macau" was held on 5 July at the departure level of Macau International Airport.

The ceremony was officiated by Eng. Ao Man Long - Secretary for Transports and Public Works, Mr. Choi Lai Hang - Chief of Macau Customs, Macao SAR, Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes - Acting Director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Mr. Simon Chan - Acting President of Macau Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Deng Jun - Chairman of the Board of Directors & Executive Committee of CAM , Mr. Tony Fernandes - Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia, Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld - Chief Executive Officer of Thai AirAsia, Mr. Carlos S. Salgado - Airport Director, Ms. Juthapon Rerngrona Sa - Deputy Director of Thai Tourism Department, Mr. Patrick Huen Wing Ming - Executive Director of CAM and Mr. Chan Wai Leong, Executive Director of CAM.

With the aim to further strengthen the international collaboration of Macau' s aviation industry and to allow different segments of Macau' s social sectors to better understand the Low Fare Airline, Eng. Ao Man Long, Secretary for Transport and Public Works, led a delegation on the First Low Fare Airline Inaugural Flight from Macau to Bangkok from 5 to 7 July 2004 to establish contacts with the government of Thailand and related entities.

Macau International Airport has always performed an important role as a transportation hub in the region and hopes that by taking this opportunity of organizing this First Low Fare Airline Inaugural Flight Delegation, representatives from various Associations and Industries of Macau will have a better understanding on how Low Far Airlines operates as well as to confer how it may bring future business opportunities to tourism, convention and gaming industries in order to encourage the cooperation with the world.
