The 2016 Five Airports (A5) of the Greater Pearl River Delta Chairman's meeting was rotated to be held in Hong Kong on 9th Dec 2016. Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Chairman of the Executive Committee - Dr. Deng Jun led a delegation to attend the meeting. The A5 Chairman Meeting was rotated to be organized by Hong Kong International Airport this year, with the theme “New Trend of Intelligent Airport”.
Representatives of the A5 airports made presentations on the topic, with their own emphasis and different implementations. Ms. Sharon Wang – Managing Director of Airport Information Management Solutions (AIMS) on behalf of CAM shared around the big data management model, introduced the development and innovative thoughts of virtual airport strategy. By establishment of the V-Terminal platform system, airport services and business were extended to online with advantages of information technology and the internet; thereby the limitation of physical space reached a breakthrough, operation processes electronic came true, E-commerce, and online services promoted, which built Macau International Airport as a happy experienced station.
The meeting was followed by heated discussions of A5 Chairmen; they unanimously agreed that intelligent airport was the inevitable trend in the development of modern airports, whether in the aspect of improvement of operation efficiency or service quality, intelligent airport would bring more effective solutions and anticipated passenger experience. Chairman Deng Jun put forward that the “Technology Application Sharing Professional Committee” established last year should play its role in promotion of the goals the Committee set initially, in order to grow together and develop regional and national aviation industry and economy. In implementation of Framework Agreement on Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation and Framework Agreement on Macau/Guangdong Co-operation, representatives of the Five Airports signed a Memorandum at the meeting for continual development of the Greater PRD region aviation industry and deepening closer co-operation among the five airports, looking forward to communication by establishing different working groups and lead the development of the industry in the area.
