CAM Chairman Ma Iao Hang Led Management to Inspect HZM Bridge Airport Service Center
On 4th March 2019, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Ma Iao Hang, together with the Chairman of the Executive Committee Dr. Deng Jun, led the Departments Directors to visit the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) to learn about the location and construction progress of the Macau International Airport (MIA) service center, and inspect the travel lines of passengers, in order to make full use of the HZMB to provide passengers with convenient travel routes, allowing the Bay area passengers to quickly arrive at the MIA for taking flights, gradually realize the one-hour life circle and promote the future integration development of the Bay Area.
Since the opening of the HZMB in October last year, the average number of passengers at MIA has increased by more than 10%. According to airlines information, residents of the Pearl River Delta have maintained an increase in travel through Macau International Airport. The tourism industry pointed out that through the regional cooperation of the industry, the bridge will attract international customers to visit Hong Kong and Macao and then transfer to the Southeast Asia region via MIA, thus driving the Macao economy. The Macau International Airport service center on the HZMB is located at the Macau Artificial Island Passenger Clearance Building. After the completion of the renovation in March and the refinement process, the center is expected to put into use as soon as possible, using the “Express Link” service to seamlessly connect and collaborate to create synergies, provide passengers diversified and convenient travel services to enhance the competitiveness and resources of the airport in Bay Area. At the same time, it can also reduce the pressure on the current check-in counters at MIA and provide a diversion effect.
