Macau International Airport Build Up Self Service Check-in Kiosk Platform
Macau International Airport (MIA) passenger traffic volume grows rapidly in recent years, in order to handle the huge volume of passengers, MIA actively update our software and hardware equipment, and optimizes the airport service quality. To cope with the trend of developing smart airport and to optimize travel experiences, MIA deployed the Self Service Check-in Kiosk platform on the 11th March 2019. Passengers can simply complete the check-in procedures, (such as, travel documents verification, seat selection, and printing of boarding passes) at the kiosk. Passengers with check-in baggage can drop their baggage at the terminal dedicated counter. The Self Service Check-in Kiosk are currently only applicable to passengers travelling with Air Macau and Xiamen Airline, and will step by step increase and airport will introduce more airlines using this platform. The new system provides a quick and efficient platform to complete check-in processes, and greatly reduces passenger waiting time in the queue. On the other hand, it can solve a little bit of manpower issue at the airport. In order to cope with future development, Macau International Airport will continue evolving intellectual technology development, introducing smart and convenient services to enable passengers to experience quality service.
