Macau International Airport Once Again Invited Macau Health Bureau to Inspect the Anti-epidemic Procedures on Cargo Workflow and Protective Measures

In order to follow strictly the anti-epidemic requirement of the Macau SAR Government, Macau International Airport always maintains high alert and performs preventive measures persistently against COVID-19 to prevent imported case through arrival flights and cargo flights. On 10th  September 2021, Airport Operations Department of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) once again invited inspectors from Control and Disease Prevention Centre (CDC) of Macau Health Bureau and the Infectious Disease Department of Centro Hospitalar Conde de São Januário (CHCSJ) to conduct a site inspection to an inbound flight carrying cargo from medium/high-risk area, which aimed to understand the procedures on cargo disinfection in the cargo warehouse (especially for imported cold chain food), the unloading process and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

On the day of inspection, the inspection team provided guidance and made evaluation on epidemic prevention measures and disinfection works of medium/high-risk cargo flight from Taipei and further assessed in details, such as cargo loader, cargo disinfection at the apron and in the cargo warehouse, the area where staff put on and remove PPE as well as cargo hold disinfection process, etc. The three inspectors agreed that the current procedures and measures basically met the requirements of the Health Bureau.  Suggestions have also been made to the use of PPE, the setting of PPE removal zones, and the use of bleach for disinfection.  The Airport Operations Department have notified Menzies Macau Airport Service Limited to implement related measures as suggested immediately on the same day.
