CAM Executive Director Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan Attended the 34th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board Meeting 2022

The 34th Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Board Meeting was held in Muscat on 6th December 2022. As the epidemic development and immigration policies vary between different countries, both in-person and virtual meeting was held at the same time. Aviation business leaders from across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region attended the meeting to provide strategic direction for ACI Asia-Pacific in its advocacy efforts, programmes and activities within the region. Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Executive Director of Macau International Airport Company Limited as a member of ACI Regional Board, represented to attend the virtual meeting. On the occasions, the council affairs, the minutes of the last Regional Board Meeting were passed, while Board members have listened to the financial report and was updated with the latest status of the industry, policy papers, report on the establishment and progress of the subregional office, membership affairs and announced the appointment of new board members. In addition, the Board members discussed the Association’s strategic objectives of next year as well as several other advocacy topics, including economics, environment, safety, security and human resource.

A total of 6 new airport operators, 2 affiliates and 9 World Business Partners have joined ACI Asia-Pacific in 2022. ACI Asia-Pacific now has 127 airport members, managing and operating 618 airports across 46 countries and a strong line-up of 97 World Business Partners. During the Regional Board Meeting, the appointment of three new members into ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board was announced. The three new members are Ms. Lorie Argus, CEO of Australia Pacific Airports Corporation, Mr. Muhammad Awaluddin, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II, Indonesia and Mr. Wang Chang Yi, Chairman of Capital Airports Holding Limited.
