Macau International Airport Recorded Steady Growth in Passenger Volume during CNY Holiday Emphasize on Upgrade in Service Details

At the beginning of Chinese New Year 2023, Secretary for Transport and Public Works Mr. Raimundo Arrais do Rosário paid a visit to inspect at Macau International Airport (MIA) on 25th January 2023, accompanied by President of the Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) Mr. Simon Chan, Vice President of AACM Mr. Stanley Pun, and two Executive Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Chu Tan Neng and Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, reporting on the operation situation. Mr. Raimundo Arrais do Rosário extended gratitude to the frontline and office support personnel for their uninterrupted service to passengers during the Chinese New Year holiday.

A total of 36,890 passengers was welcome with 323 flight movements was recorded from 22nd to 25th January 2023, accounted for 80% and 74% increase respectively compared to the same period of CNY last year. Along with the gradual recovery of air travel demand, all the five CAM Executive Committee members conducted inspection and communication with each operating units before the holiday (19th January 2023), to understand their work arrangement and express appreciation to personnel of the operating units for their detailed preparation and implementation while ushering in the foreseeable peak of passenger volume during Chinese New Year. Chairman of the Executive Committee of CAM Dr. Deng Jun and his delegation had a site visit to Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) on 23rd January 2023 and expressed high satisfaction to the extra manpower deployed by the relevant departments of Airport Operations Department to follow up on passenger services. He also observed the services of airport security personnel and the boarding gate in the South Extension area of PTB which was put into service lately. Other participants in the inspection included: Director of Executive Committee Office (ECO) Ms. Katy Lo and Director of Corporate Communications and Policy Research Office (CPO) Ms. Vicki Mou.
