MIA Representatives Participated in MGTO’s “Macao Tourism + MICE Product Updates Seminar & Travel Mart” in Seoul, Korea
On 29th May 2025, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held a promotional seminar and business matching session in Seoul Korea, to showcase the latest developments in Macao’s “Tourism + MICE” offerings. Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), together with local tourism industry representatives, actively promoted Macao’s new tourism trends and competitive advantages to the Korean market, with the aim of fostering bilateral industry collaboration and expanding international visitor sources. The event drew participation from over 230 industry representatives from both regions and approximately 50 local media outlets. The atmosphere was vibrant, with lively exchanges and mutual exploration of development opportunities. On 30th May, CAM representatives also participated in the large-scale “Experience Macao” roadshow, engaging directly with Korean travellers – particularly targeting the younger demographic – to promote travel to Macao and attract more international tourists.
Macau International Airport continues to strengthen its efforts to attract Korean travellers. During the event, CAM held in-depth discussions with major Korean travel industry players and airlines to explore cooperation and development opportunities. Notably, a preliminary agreement was reached with representatives from Jin Air to resume the “Macao–Seoul” route by the end of October, which will further facilitate bilateral travel. In addition, CAM representatives met with representatives of Aero K Airlines to discuss in detail the potential launch of a new “Macao–Cheongju” route, with plans to commence operations during the upcoming winter schedule. This initiative aims to enrich direct flight options in the Korean market and attract more international travellers to Macao.
Mr. Eric Fong, Director of Marketing Department (MKD) of CAM and Mr. Edman Lee, Deputy Director of MKD represented to join the event.
