CAM Representatives Participated in the Low Cost Carriers Development (China) Forum 2025
Representatives of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) attended the Low Cost Carriers Development (China) Forum 2025 in Shanghai from 26th to 27th June 2025, over 200 aviation industry leaders from more than 20 countries and regions, including airlines, airports, travel service providers and technology suppliers to discuss the future trends and strategic collaborations in the low-cost carrier (LCC) sector.
Under the theme “Beyond Low Cost: Innovation, Digitalization, and Growth Strategies”, the forum focus topics on sustainable development, green aviation technologies and digital solutions. Director of Marketing Department (MKD) of CAM Mr. Eric Fong, was invited to participate in the panel discussion on “LCC-airport partnerships and synergies” and shared insights for the current LCC operations and future strategies, emphasizing facility optimization of Macau International Airport to support airline market expansion. During the event, CAM representatives actively engaged with international aviation partners, including Aero K Airlines from Korea and Tigerair Taiwan, to explore potential collaborations in route development and service innovation. During the forum, Aero K Airlines announced the new flights between Cheongju, South Korea and Macau will launch in October this year.
In addition, Marketing Department and Shanghai Representative Office of CAM delegation paid a courtesy visit to the China Eastern Airlines headquarters in Shanghai to further enhance cooperation. China Eastern Airlines plans to launch one-weekly direct flight from Macau-Taiyuan in July 2025, Macau-Nanchang route in September, operated with the domestically produced COMAC C909 aircraft. This milestone is expected to mark the first time a COMAC aircraft serves Macau. China Eastern Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to support Macau International Airport’s route network expansion, boosting inbound tourism to Macau.
Other delegates attended the meeting included: China Eastern Airlines – SVP of Marketing and Sales, Mr. Jin Cheng Chu, VP of Internet Revenue Department of Marketing and Sales, Mr. Gao Ling Yun, and Senior Manager of Chinese-Made Civil Aircraft Department of Internet Revenue Department of Marketing and Sales, Mr. Han Jia Le; CAM – Senior Assistant to the Chief Representative of Shanghai Representative Office, Mr. Yu Feng and Manager of MKD Ms. Natalie Fong.
