Macau International Airport – Airport Safety Campaign 2025

Macau International Airport held Airport Safety Campaign 2025 between 13th and 17th October with the theme of “Three Decades Together, Safeguard Continues” which attracted more than 270 staff in participation from key airport partners and operation units. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Macau International Airport, the campaign featured a “Safety Recognition Event” to express gratitude to airport partners and staff for their contributions on safety over the years, aiming to instill safety culture, foster collaboration, and emphasize the importance of safety to all staff.

Since its official opening in 1995, Macau International Airport has always been adhering to its core value of “Safety, Efficiency and Effectiveness” achieving the excellent safety performance of “zero major aviation accident”. This accomplishment is attributed to the airport’s comprehensive safety management system, established in 2006 with the formation of the Airport Safety Office and Airport Safety Committee, which laid solid safety foundation through regular operational safety reviews, continuous optimization of contingency plans, proactive risk assessments to address new challenges, strengthened oversight of new systems, and the promotion of rigorous inspections and training.

During the recognition ceremony on the last day of the campaign, Mr. Geng Yajun, Chairman of the Macau International Airport Safety Committee, reviewed the safety management achievements over the past 30 years and expressed his sincere gratitude to all collaborating organizations and staff. Subsequently, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), Mr. Chan Weng Hong, and Executive Directors Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang, presented awards to 15 airport partner enterprises. Afterwards, Mr. Geng Yajun, the Airport Director, and Mr. Ip Seng Chao, Safety Manager of Macau International Airport, presented “Outstanding Safety Achievement Award” and “Safety Performance Award” to 30 outstanding staff from different airport entities and units for their dedicated efforts and contributions. The event concluded with award recipients sharing their safety experiences and insights with attendees.

Participating entities in this campaign covered all sectors of airport operations including CAM, the Aeronautical Meteorology Centre of the Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau, Fire Services Bureau Airport Division, the Airport Information Management Solutions, Big Four Facilities Management Company Ltd., Brilliant Landscaping & Gardening Company Ltd., CCCC Third Harbour Consultants Macau Co. Ltd., CTM, East-Sun Cleaning Services Ltd., FOCUS Facilities Management Ltd., Menzies Macau Airport Service Ltd., Nam Kwong Petroleum & Chemicals Company Ltd., SEMAC Security Company Ltd., MCS Servair Macau Ltd., Sino-Macau Business Aviation Center Ltd., TAG Asia Aviation (Macau) Ltd., Air Macau Company Ltd. and Eva Airways, etc. Participants engaged in vibrant discussions on airport safety operations, emergency response, and technological innovation, sharing their valuable insights respectively to advance aviation safety.

Marking thirty years of safe operations, Macau International Airport stands at a pivotal point in its history. The ongoing reclamation and expansion, coupled with upgrades to central security channels and air traffic control systems, Macau International Airport is ushering in a new round of development opportunities. The airport will continue to prioritize safety, promote development through collaboration, and jointly safeguard the skies of Macau’s aviation industry, contributing more “airport strength” to the economic and social development of Macau!
