The 2018 A5 of GPRD Chairman Meeting Held to Develop Wolrd-Class Airport Group with Transportation Network among Guangdong, HK and Macao

The Chairman's meeting of Five Airports of the Greater Pearl River Delta (A5) was held in Zhuhai on 8th - 9th Nov 2018. Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) - Dr. Deng Jun led a delegation to attend the meeting, which was co-organized by Zhuhai Airport Group Corp. and Hong Kong – Zhuhai Airport Management Company Limited this year, with the theme of “Boost Development of Airport Economy with Transportation Network among Guangdong, HK and Macao”.

Civil aviation experts were invited to give speech in the meeting to share management philosophy in the era with new situation and new opportunities, discussed the experience in promoting the airport economy development under the background of continuous development and perfection of large-scale transportation network in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. A5 Chairmen signed a Memorandum at the meeting to jointly promote the development of the airport economy and the civil aviation industry, and build a world-class airport group in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

A5 Chairmen delivered speeches respectively during the meeting, Chairman Deng Jun expressed that Macau International Airport will put the 13th Five-Year Plan into practice, with combining Macao's development orientation and unique advantages. Regarding the regional differences in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the system differences of A5, Chairman Deng put forward some suggestions, such as to strengthen logistics cooperation with Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, provide direct express service between the five airports to enhance traffic connectivity, create emergency rescue system between A5, increase information sharing of experience in airport infrastructure, revenue generation and operation optimization. To realize the complementary advantages and differentia development of the airports in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, A5 should strengthen collaboration and build a global passenger air transport network, to ensure the continuous safety of aviation operations and improve the efficiency of aviation services.

Representatives of the Five Airports signed a Memorandum at the meeting for building world class airport group construction and airspace refinement management.

Other representatives of CAM included: Director of Planning and Commercial Development Department - Ms. Winnie Hsu, Deputy Director of Executive Committee Office – Ms. Vicki Mou and Manager of Corporate Communication and Policy Research Office – Ms. Miley Kou.
