On 4^th November 2004, the delegation led by Mr. Dong Zhi Yi, General Manager of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company paid a visit to Macau International Airport. The delegation comprised of Mr. Yi Kesusu, Commander of Extension Project of Huhehot Bai Ta Airport, Mr. Han Zhi Liang, Vice Commander of Extension Project of Huhehot Bai Ta Airport, Ms. Wang Rong Jing, President of Trade Union of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company, Mr. Liu Bo, Director of Financial Management Department of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company, Mr. Hu Xiao Tain, Vice Director of Planning Development Department of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company, Mr. Jiang Chun Yang, Manager of Airport Maintenance Department of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company, Mr. Li Xue Min, General Manager Office Vice-director of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company and Mr. Li Lan Ying, Head Secretary of Ulanhot Civil Aviation Station of China Civil Aviation.


This was a reciprocate visit from CAM´s recent visit to Inner Mongolia. It represented a further establishment of friendly cooperation between the two sides.


There are nine civil airports under the management of Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company in Inner Mongolia Province. Bai Ta Airport of Huhehot city, one of these airports, is going to be a main backup airport for the Beijing Capital International Airport during Olympic Games being held in Beijing in 2008. For this reason, Bai Ta Airport is planning to enlarge its airport facilities. The investment on the enlargement is estimated to be around RMB100 million. The area of the terminal building of Bai Ta Airport would increase from 20, 000 square meters to 60, 000 square meters and the length of run way would extend to 4,000 meters. Therefore, the Bai Ta Airport needs to enhance its management standards and service qualities. Macau International Airport possesses a vast experience in international operation management and high quality service standards, which could be of reference to the Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group.


A banquet was hosted by Mr. Deng Jun, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of CAM in honour of the visiting group. A meeting was arranged with ADA and Menzies Macau. Representatives of ADA and Menzies Macau made their presentation of Macau International Airport´s operation management and ground service for the visiting delegation. Mr. Dong Zhi Yi expressed that the success of Macau International Airport not only depends on its support from Macau SAR but also with its effective operation management under the rules and regulations and preventive safety systems in place as well as strict service inspections, which are of international management standard. He hoped Macau International Airport might provide training activities on management and service of the airport so as to build their international market by means of learning.


In the visit, both sides have reached the intention of establishing future cooperation and closer communications, Macau International Airport would have no doubt on sharing its managerial experience, besides, it would act as a service platform undertaking a vital role, when developing a broader market together with Huhehot Airport.
