MIA Go-Karting Championship 2007 was held on 28th April, 2007 at the Kartodromo in Coloane followed by the dinner in the evening. This was one of the gathering activities in which Macau International Airport organized aiming to share with airlines, airport operations, related industry entities and government department some joys to express our appreciation for their long term support and contribution to the airport as well as to taking the opportunity to gather together and to explore further in the business cooperation. This can said to be an unforgettable and meaningful activity and everybody was spending a joyful weekend.

Participants were split into four teams, each team consisted of 12 members who were to take a 10 minutes’ driving to compete for the Fastest Lap, the Slowest Lap and the Champion Team. Results for the semi-final were: Winner of the Fastest Lap went to Air Macau (Cargo) Mr. AdrianoDo Espirito Santo with his fastest lap time 1’03”, Winner of the slowest Lap went to Landmark Hotel Ms. Yen Lam with her slowest lap time 1’47” while the Champion Team went to Team A with an average lap time 1’24”. Members of Team A inclusive of AACM, CAM and Menzies Macau Airport Services Ltd.

The fastest 3 karts of each team at the semi-final were entitled to enter the final and were to compete for the Champion, the Second Place and the Third Place. After a bout of 10-laps driving, the Champion went to Mr. Henrique Lai of Air Macau (Cargo), his total lap time was 10’43”, in less than a second’s time, the Second Place went to Adriano Do Espirito Santo of Air Macau (Cargo), his total lap time was 10’44” while the Third Place went to Mr.Tin Kuan Yun, Chief of Macau-Hong Kong Terminal of Immigration Department, Public Security Police, his total lap time was 11’05”.

In addition to the semi-final and the final, there was a Friendship Invitation cup in which a 5-laps’ racing was taking place. Participants included Mr. Simon Chan, President of Macau Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Deng Jun, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Macau International Airport Co. Ltd., Ms. Liu Suning, Executive Director of CAM, Mr. Li Jin Lin, President of CNAC(Macau) Aviation Ltd., Dr. Jose Carlos Rosa Angeja, CEO of ADA-Administration of Airports Ltd., Mr. Zhao Junfeng, General Manager of SEMAC – Companhia de Seguranca de Macau, Lda., Mr. Franz Ennesser, General Manager of MCS – Macau Catering Services Co. Ltd., Mr. Bruce Wang, General Manager of Eva Airways Corporation (Macau Branch), Mr. Ricky Chan, Head of Operation (Macau Business Unit) of Panalpina China Ltd., Mr. Andrew J Pyne, CEO of VIVA Macau., Mr. Hoover Hu, representative from MATCA, Ms. Anna Hong, Deputy General Manager of Shun Tak – China Travel Ship Management Ltd., Ms. Shirley Chan, Deputy General Manager of JCDecaux and Mr.Tin Kuan Yun, Chief of Macau-Hong Kong Terminal of Immigration Department - Public Security Police. The award of Friendship finally went to Dr. Jose Carlos Rosa Angeja, CEO of ADA-Administration of Airports Ltd., with total 5-laps’ driving time 5'44”.
