Macau International Airport Representatives Participated in the 22nd Meeting of the Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Sub-group of Asia Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group (APANPIRG)

The 22nd Meeting of the Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Sub-group (CNS SG/22) of Asia Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group (APANPIRG) was held at the ICAO Asia and Pacific Office, Bangkok, Thailand, from 16th to 20th July 2018. Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) appointed representatives Mr. Sammy Chan - Director of Engineering & Maintenance Branch of Airport Operations Department, Ms. Cecil Wong - Head of Information Technology, Technical Support, Communication, Navaids & Surveillance Division of Airport Operations Department and Mr. Orlando Chou - Deputy Safety Manager of Airport Operations Department to participate in the meeting along with AACM representatives. 

 

Representatives from 28 ICAO Member States/Administrations in the Asia Pacific region, IATA and ICCAIA had participated the meeting. During the meeting, representatives had broad and in depth constructive discussions over applying of advance technology on CNS systems to enhance safety and performance standards. The meeting is fruitful and facilitated Member States on the planning and implementation of CNS systems improvements. In this connection, CAM is planning for implementation of ATS Message Handling System / Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (AMHS/ATN) upgrade and Common Regional Aeronautical Virtual Private Network (CRV) installation aligning with ICAO’s regional implementation target.

 

CAM shares the common safety goal with ICAO and aviation stakeholders to drive a continuing development on CNS systems in further enhancing safety, services efficiency and quality to support the steady growth of aviation industry.
