Macau International Airport (MIA) recorded ideal performance in both the passenger and aircraft movements in the third quarter of 2018. Passenger movements surpassed 2,150,000, and there was over 16,800 aircraft movement in the third quarter of 2018 both representing 13% increase than the same period of last year.  Passenger traffic in Mainland China routes and Southeast Asia routes continue to perform well recorded an increase of 34% and 6% compared with the same period of last year. Passenger traffic in the China Taiwan routes recorded increase of 0.2%. The passenger movement of MIA has increased steadily during Golden week.  From 1^st to 7^th October (the Golden Week), MIA has handled over 150,000 passenger movements and over 1,300 aircraft movements representing a 4.5% and 6.7% increase respectively comparing to same period last year.

Up to the end of September 2018, there are 31 airlines operate at Macau International Airport (MIA) connecting Macau to some 50 destinations covering area in Mainland China, China Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.  MIA has planned to continue to actively expand our air network by adding more new routes in the fourth quarter, including Daegu of South Korea, Xian of China, Kunming of China, Koh Samui of Thailand, Cebu of Philippines and Krabi of Thailand. The addition of new routes is bringing more choices and conveniences to both Macau residents and travelers.  The continuous route developments strengthen the route network of MIA and also provide more variety and conveniences services to passengers. MIA will continue to cooperate with each airport units to ensure our passengers with a comfort and pleasant journey.
