December 2019 marks the 20th Anniversary of the return of Macau to our Motherland and the establishment of the 5th Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).  Macau International Airport (MIA) as the important gateway connecting to the world, will ensure airport’s operation efficiency and security during the celebration period.  In the afternoon of 23rd April, 2019, Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) held the Airport Operation Safety and Airport Security Seminar for the Anniversary Celebration of MSAR, Dr. Deng Jun, Chairman of the Executive Committee of CAM hosted the seminar.  Mr. Tsui Wai Kwan and Mr. Leong Sio Pui, Executive Directors of CAM led the department directors to attend the meeting.

During the meeting, Director of Airport Operation Department Mr. Antonio Barros, Managing Director of SEMAC Security Company Mr. Pun Su Peng and the Director of Infrastructure Development Department Mr. Sandro Kou have introduced the preparation work and progress of airport security in first, middle and last stage during the anniversary period, which include airport security equipment upgrade, staff recruitment, security training, passenger inspection, airspace control, flight relocation and organization of drills.  CAM highly emphasized on each specific details, in order to effectively carry out the security work during the celebration period, a special working group was set up to conduct research and deployment, regular meeting, report and follow up progress will be reported monthly, to clarify working content, establish a strong and effective communication system, to better understand the working progress of each project.

Dr. Deng Jun, Chairman of the Executive Committee, pointed out at the meeting that since the establishment of CAM in 1989, the company has always been upholding the principles of “safety, efficiency and effectiveness”, and safety is the first priority. This mission is of great significance, each MIA staffs should be highly responsible, cooperate with various operating units of the airport, earnestly perform their duties, to implement and execute each security measure using the highest standard.  And fully support and be cooperative with the SAR Government, to ensure airport safety and efficiency during the celebration period.

Mr. Tsui Wai Kwan and Mr. Leong Sio Pui, the Executive Directors stated that MIA shall in accordance with ICAO standards and the instructions of the Civil Aviation Authority, to execute the airport security work, to ensure airport’s operation safety, to strengthen on job training for security personnel, strengthen safety awareness, and ensure that all security facilities are smooth and Operate efficiently.  During the period of Celebration, all operation units should be highly alert, to overcome the slack of numbness. Focus on the key personnel, cooperate with airport security department, pay attention to all kinds of personnel entering and leaving MIA and make good preparation in case of emergency.
