CAM Epidemic Prevention Bulletin - Issue 1 (1st Feb 2020) Chairman Ma Encourages MIA Staff to Keep Up the Anti-Epidemic Works

2020 / 02 / 01

Chairman of the Board of Directors – Mr. Ma Iao Hang recently called CAM to purposely deliver a Happy-New-Year wish to all Macau International Airport’s (MIA’s) frontline staff who stick to their posts during this particular period of time, and expresses close attention over MIA’s general anti-epidemic works. To respond to the severe situation due to the Novel Coronavirus Outbreak, MIA has been working assiduously with the Center for Disease Control of Macau SAR (CDC) to have promptly allocated space and resources for the implementation of series of epidemic prevention and control measures, which have effectively lowered the imported risks. In order to enhance the anti-epidemic awareness for MIA staff, and to expand the knowledge to extensive levels, Airport Operation Department (AOD) of CAM invited CDC to hold seminars and workshops for all MIA operating entities to get armed with the knowledge of epidemic prevention as well as self-protection; meanwhile the communication channels among all MIA entities are 24 hours available, and the close contact with CDC has been maintained as well. On the other hand, with the immediate effect, CAM has implemented corresponding preventive measures for all returning workers involved in all MIA’s construction projects. Mr. Ma praises the fighting spirit of all MIA staff who are fearless and persistent when confronting this situation, and emphasizes full confidence towards the broadly unfolded anti-epidemic works within MIA. Mr. Ma expects all to continue being vigilant and to strengthen self-protection awareness, to conduct strict checks, to stop the spread of the disease, and eventually to assist Macau SAR to go through the difficulties.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) recently asked the airport units if they have enough supplies to fight against the epidemic, and understood the situation at MIA. They encouraged Macao International Airport to work with the SAR government to fight the epidemic together.
