In order to minimize the risk of the spread of the epidemic and the impact on arrival passengers to Macau, Airport Operations Department (AOD) of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) held a working meeting with the Public Security Police Force (CPSP), Customs (SA), Menzies Macau Airport Services Ltd. and SEMAC Security Company to discuss the relevant arrival diversion plan, carefully planning to the movement of passengers after arrival and formulate reasonable passenger separation measures.

Amongst, it was reported that the tender of the Upgrade of Departure Baggage Handling System (BHS) of Passenger Terminal Building has been launched recently, which is planned to improve the BHS with seamless Hold Baggage Screen (HBS) process while adopting the RFID function for tracking the checked baggage.  The projected is expected to be completed and put into service by the end of year 2021, when passengers would enjoy great convenience as there is no need for them to carry the luggage for security check after completed check-in procedure.

Under the influence of COVID-19, the global aviation industry has slowed down, however, as the epidemic prevention has become normalized, flights from different countries have resumed orderly.  Macau International Airport will continue to uphold the core value “Safety, Efficiency and Effectiveness”, to implement strict control on epidemic prevention work.  Commit to provide safe and convenient services for citizens and tourists, hoping to restore the economy of Macao’s tourism, aviation and other related industries.  The public should continue to respond to the appeal of the SAR government and actively cooperate with the anti-epidemic work. At the same time, they can also obtain the latest epidemic information through the anti-epidemic page of CDC.  Citizens or tourists are advised to browse the page about the real time immigration control measures and related health requirements of Macao before traveling.
