CAM Chairman of BOD Mr. Ma Iao Hang and EC Members Site Check Epidemic Prevention Measures at the Airport

In response to the coming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival on 1st October, it is estimated that there will be about 400 flights during the Golden Week, doubled that in the same period of September this year, and carried about 10 thousands passengers. The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre calls on the managers of all public institutions and indoor public facilities to strictly abide by the epidemic prevention guidelines issued by the health authority in order to strengthen various health and epidemic prevention measures, including requirements for measuring body temperature of people entering in the premises, ensure that there are enough cleaning paper and alcohol handrub in public reception areas, and those who enter the premises must wear a mask and show the “Macau Health Code”. People with fever or cough are not allowed to enter.

This morning (30th September), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Ma Iao Hang, Chairman of the Executive Committee Dr. Deng Jun and the Executive Committee members, which include: Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Mr. Lei Si Tai and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang and others had a site check at Macau International Airport (MIA), especially on the four newly installed temperature measurement security gates in the terminal building according to instruction of Health Bureau, checked in details the entrance and exit process arrangements, related posting guidelines and the clarity of information. They expressed the hope that while preventing the epidemic, people flow can also be evacuated and controlled as much as possible. The four entrances and exits 1, 2 and 14 at the Departure hall of Macau International Airport (MIA), and those at the North and South ends of the Arrival level are unified as the checkpoints of body temperature and health codes for the public entering the terminal building, while other entrances and exits will be closed.

In order to minimize the risk of the spread of the epidemic and the impact on arrival passengers to Macau, Airport Operations Department (AOD) of CAM held a working meeting with related entities to discuss about the relevant arrival diversion plan, carefully planning to the movement of passengers after arrival and formulate reasonable passenger separation measures. Contingency plan was prepared just in case. Airport staff will coordinate relevant passengers to take necessary quarantine measures after entry, and closely monitor the changing epidemic situation from time to time, to be well prepared and ensure flight safety in terms of epidemic prevention, as to further reduce the risk of community outbreak.
