CAM Representatives Attended the GHM Greater Bay Area Civil Aviation High-Quality Development Conference at Guangzhou
In order to promote the development plan of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area formulated by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and the coordinated development of civil aviation in the Greater Bay Area formulated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Central and Southern Regional Administration, CAM representatives participated the Greater Bay Area Civil Aviation high-quality development conference in Guangzhou on 25th - 26th April 2023. The participating entities of the conference included Central and Southern Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB), GHM Greater Bay Area A5 member airports (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macau) and airlines such as Air Macau, Cathay Pacific, China Southern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Donghai Airlines.
Representatives led by Executive Director of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Chu Tan Neng visited the Guangzhou Area Control Center at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport for learning about the recent operating National Traffic Flow Management System in terms of civil aviation flow control and pre-establishment of flow control measures under bad weather conditions, to lay a foundation for the development of civil aviation in the Greater Bay Area. In addition, CAM representatives also met with the representatives of Zhuhai Jinwan Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration respectively for seeking solutions of mutual benefit.
On the next day, CAM representative gave a speech in the conference, introduced the positioning of Macau International Airport as a multi-functional airport in the city and its future development plans such as land reclamation and expansion projects. The importance of differentiated development of airports in the Greater Bay Area is advocated as well as integration of airspace resources to deepen the reform of low-altitude airspace management in the Area, establishing a spare parts and emergency equipment sharing cooperation agreements among airports in the Area. Human resources provision for the civil aviation industry by using the training resources in the Area, and strengthening the cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries in the aviation field, to achieve the “Belt and Road Initiative” strategy and the promotion of economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries to leverage the synergy of the Greater Bay Area. The other participating entities also expressed their opinions about their own development direction in the conference, so as to build consensus for creating a new regional coordinated development pattern driven by the multi-core of international aviation hubs in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and the multi-linkage between Macau and Zhuhai airports to enhance the competitiveness of civil aviation industry in the Greater Bay Area for working towards a high quality world-class airports cluster.
