CAM Organized the Aviation Safety and Search and Rescue Coordination Meeting
On 24th January 2024, the Airport Operations Department (AOD) of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) held an Aviation Safety and Search and Rescue Coordination Meeting. A total of 37 participants from Fire Services Bureau (CB), Air Macau Company Limited and AOD of CAM attended. The meeting aimed to promote mutual exchanges, clarify coordination and process doubts, strengthen the search and rescue cooperation, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of Macau International Airport.
Recent accidents and unsafe incidents have occurred frequently in the international civil aviation industry. In order to ensure the daily operations of Macau International Airport in effective and safe manner, optimize the airport emergency search and rescue handling process, and fully embody the core value “Safety, Efficiency and Effectiveness” of CAM, AOD coordinated with CB, Air Macau and other units of AOD to hold the Aviation Safety and Search and Rescue Coordination Meeting, aiming to optimize related work and communication processes, reduce human factor errors, and strengthen the airport’s emergency response and rescue support with the concept of being prepared for danger in times of peace.
The meeting began with a welcome speech by Mr. Dicky Chu, Director of the Operations Branch of AOD and Mr. Hoover Hu, Senior Head of the Air Traffic Service Division, introduced safety incidents, coordinated improvement measures, and gave a conclusion for the meeting. Representatives from CB explained the firefighting procedures of Airport Station and related actions in various emergency situations. Air Macau representatives explained the crew’s work requirements and assistance required in various emergency situations. Relevant units of the AOD introduced the common aircraft types at Macau International Airport and explained the airport’s main emergency procedures. This coordination meeting provided a platform for frontline personnel to communicate with each other, better strengthen the cooperation, and ensure that emergency and search and rescue operations are in place.
