The “2024 Asian Freight, Logistics & Supply Chain Awards” (AFLAS) organized by Asia Cargo News was held in Shanghai on 25th June 2024. Macau International Airport (MIA) was elected as the winner of the “Best Airport - Asia” award (under 1m tonnes) consecutively. The Asian Freight Logistics and Supply Chain Awards Ceremony as one of the most authoritative annual awards ceremony in the Asian transportation and supply chain industry, the prize winner was nominated and voted by over 15,000 readers and e-news subscribers and other service users. Companies and service providers that excel in leadership, service quality, innovation, customer relationship management and reliability. These include airports, seaports and logistics companies, as well as other related industry professionals. This award affirmed the recognition of the service quality and development potential of the air freight services in Macau International Airport.

As China’s cross-border e-commerce market continues to develop rapidly, air cargo has gained increasing recognition as an high efficient logistics distribution channel. Data indicates that a steady increase in cargo volume at Macau International Airport, with a significant portion attributed to e-commerce goods. As a core hub within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and linked to the Pearl River Delta economic circle, Macau boasts streamlined high processing efficiency for cross-border e-commerce cargo handling capabilities and offers an excellent logistics access. It is anticipated that in early future, Macau International Airport will attract additional freighter routes due to ongoing expansion in cross-border e-commerce activities, leading to maintain stable growth in its cargo volume.

Mr. Frank Wu, Director of Logistic and General Aviation Development Department (LGD) and Mr. Corey Chan, Administrative Assistant of LGD, attended the ceremony and received the award on behalf of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM).
