Macau International Airport’s New Boarding Gates in Service

2018 / 08 / 21

In 2018, over 8 million of passengers are estimated for Macau International Airport (MIA). To meet its traffic growth, the Airport has been undergoing a series of expansion and facility enhancement during the past few years. The North area of the Terminal was consecutively opened to passengers in 2018, served as a major highlight of MIA’s short term expansion plan.  With six new boarding gates made available at this new premise, MIA launched a new array of numbers to all its boarding gates at the passenger terminal on 22 August 2018.

MIA reminds passengers that the gates have been renumbered and they may locate their respective gates by using the updated wayfinding signage, displayed at the departures of the terminal such as the check in zones, information counter and boarding areas. Also, to make it more intuitive for passengers during this introductory phase, check-in passengers shall receive a flyer regarding the new boarding gate locations from 22 August 2018 onwards. Nevertheless, passengers are welcome to approach the airport staff for any assistance which may be required.

Among the boarding gates at the departure restricted area, remote Gate No. 1 to 5 locate on Level 0 of the North Terminal, where passengers can access through escalators/staircase near Boarding Gate No. 7.  Others, including Boarding Gate No. 6 to 12, situate on Level 1 at departure, five of which are connected with loading bridges where passengers can conveniently arrive to the aircraft.
